Action 1.2 Selective Process Requiring Improvment

Purpose

To select a process requiring improvement from the list of opportunities created in the previous step.

DESIRED OUTCOME

A selected process that requires improvement.

How to do it

Draw a macro flow chart of the end to end process that is associated with this major opportunity for improvement. Determine the natural start and finish points on the flowchart so that we can put a boundary around the project.

The boundaries on a particular process may alter (to take in a smaller or larger ‘piece’ of the process) as the improvement team learns more about the process and questions the original boundaries.
